An Oklahoma pilot is killed trying to land his home-made airplane at a Yukon airport Saturday morning.
The FAA reports the pilot was preparing to land a Skeeter 1M, fixed-wing, single-engine airplane single engine plane at Clarence E. Page Airport when it crashed.
The pilot's name hasn't been released, but we know the plane is registered to a Moore resident.
News9 talked to another pilot who says the victim had more than 40 years of flying experience.
"He had designed the airplane and built the airplane himself. Had flown it for a number of years. Very good solid airplane and had flown it all over the United States," said Mike Grimes.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating to find out what went wrong.
