Oklahoma State mounted a big comeback over Tulsa Wednesday evening as Chelsea Garcia belted a grand slam in the top of the seventh to help the Cowgirls to a 7-3 victory.

TU's Aimee Creger walked three batters in the top of the seventh before Lacey Middlebrooks was called in to relieve Creger.  Garcia stepped to the plate and blasted a long ball over the left field fence to give the Cowgirls a 6-3 advantage. One batter later, Tarah Ettinger also launched a homer to left to make it 7-3.

The game was scoreless in the opening inning, but Oklahoma State broke the scoring silence in the top of the second. Ettinger drew a walk to get things started. Amy Graham laid down a sacrifice bunt that was followed by a TU error that allowed Ari Morrison to first and Ettinger to score and give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead.

But the Golden Hurricane came back in a fury in the bottom of the third. With two outs, Caitlin Everett drew a walk and then stole second. Jill Barrett's single to left field moved Everett to third then Samantha Cobb belted a three-run home run to center field to give TU a 3-1 advantage.

Oklahoma State responded in the top of the sixth when Ettinger pounded an RBI double down the left field line to score Schultz and cut TU's lead to 3-2. That seemed to be the spark that got OSU going as the Cowgirls used the next inning with Garcia's grand slam and Ettinger's home run to complete the come from behind victory.

OSU' Kat Espinosa earned the win after pitching the final four innings. She gave up just one hit and no runs. Starting pitcher Simone Freeman gave up three runs on six hits.

Creger threw 6.1 innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on just two hits to take the loss. She struck out 14, walked 10 and threw exactly 150 pitches. Middlebrooks threw the final 0.2 innings and gave up two runs on two hits.

Tulsa moves on to open Conference USA action Saturday at noon against UCF in Orlando.

The win moves Oklahoma State to 9-9 on the season. The Cowgirls return to action Friday hosting the Mizuno Classic in Stillwater. OSU will face San Jose State at 3:45 p.m.
