McLain Hires Jarvis Payne As New Football Coach

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Public Schools has announced that it will be making former assistant coach Jarvis Payne, Sr. the new head football coach for McLain High School for Science and Technology.

"He will build on the solid foundation that was set by our former head coach, Dan Bitson," said Gil Cloud, interim TPS athletic director. "Coach Payne is an outstanding educator and will have a positive impact on his student athletes."

Payne has been an assistant at McLain since 2003, as well as serving as the head coach for the Junior Varsity and Freshman teams. He is a graduate of TPS, playing with the 1984 Booker T. Washington state championship team.
