Thanks to a strong outing from starter Michelle Gascoigne, the Oklahoma Sooners pulled off a 5-0 win over the Wichita State Cyclones in opening game of a planned double-header Saturday, before the second game was canceled due to rain.

The junior lefty pitched a complete-game for the Sooners, giving up just two hits and striking out 10 of the 24 batters she faced Saturday in the win to remain undefeated on the season. Sloan Anderson (3-9) came away with a loss for the Cyclones, giving up five runs on seven hits in six innings.

Oklahoma went scoreless through three innings, but managed to crack the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth. Lindsey Chamberlain knocked an RBI double to right center field to bring Erica Sampson home from first.

The Sooners tagged on two more in the bottom of the fifth thanks to the bat of Javen Henson. With a runner on first, Henson tripled to right field brining Brianna Turang home to take a 2-0 lead. Henson came home on the same play due to an error, pushing the lead to three runs.

OU capped the scoring in the next inning thanks to the bat of Georgia Casey, knocking a two-run home run to right field.

The second game of the double-header was postponed due to rain, pushed back to 5 p.m. Sunday, as part of a double-header against the Hoosiers.
