Musician Leaves Tulsa Without Accordion, But With New Boots

A musician is pleading for help to find his prized instrument. Someone took his accordion after a show this weekend, and he just wants it back – no questions asked. 

Radoslav Lorkovic had just played what he calls the "the show of his life" at the Brady Theater. He was celebrating at a VIP party, when his prized possession -- his accordion -- disappeared.

Lorkovic is visiting from Chicago. He's still in town after playing his music at the Woody Guthrie Centennial Celebration.

And if you're in from out of town, why wouldn't you stop by Cavender's to pick up a little Western wear?

For Radoslav, it helped take his mind off the fact that his age-old friend is missing.

"It was a gift to me, an unexpected gift on a tour in Italy," Lorkovic said.

Now, two decades later, Radoslav hasn't gone anywhere without his accordion in hand. That is, until Saturday night.

Radoslav says, like many other nights, he sat his accordion against a wall.

"I took my eyes away from the accordion for maybe 10 seconds, I look back, it was gone. It was gone," he said.

It was in a distinctive case, decorated with 20 years worth of festival stickers, a story behind every one.

Radoslav says the accordion itself is worth next to nothing.

"I think if you're into the memorabilia aspect, keep the case, give me the accordion - the accordion, you'll get nothing for it," he said.

Now, without his accordion, he's headed back to Chicago taking with him a new pair of boots and a positive attitude.

"The upside is we went out in a bang. That was probably our best night, that night at the Brady Theater, me and my accordion," he said.
