Tulsa's Union Schools Warn Parents Of Abduction Attempt Of Student

Union Schools sent a letter out Darnaby Elementary parents Friday after an unsuccessful abduction attempt of a 7th Grade student Thursday afternoon.

Police say the student was walking home from school in the Darnaby area when a man approached the student. The student was able to run away and wasn't harmed, according to a Union School release.

The student described would-be abductor as a black male with a mustache, approximately 30-40 years of age, who was driving a newer model, white, two-door truck.

Darnaby Principal Chris Reynolds told parents there would an increased police presence in the neighborhood as a result of Thursday's incident.

The school has also instructed students on the dangers of approaching strangers, and encouraged parents to "send a strong message" by going outside and being visible in the neighborhood.

This is just the latest in a rash of attempted abduction reports being investigated by Tulsa Police.
