One Tulsa St. Patrick's Day Celebration Ends In Assault, Arrest

The St. Patrick's Day celebration ended painfully for one man at the Blue Dome District. Police say the assault happened just before midnight at 1st and Detroit in downtown Tulsa.

"From what we can tell, the suspect we have in custody just walked up and punched the victim," said Captain Shawn King of the Tulsa Police Department.

The victim hit his head on the concrete and lost "a significant amount of blood," King said.

"Anytime you put this many people with alcohol in such a tight area, you're going to have incidents," he said, "but fortunately we've had very, very few incidents tonight."
