STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Tuesday's game was a bit of a blast from the past for OSU and its former conference rival Colorado.

But the end result for the Cowgirls was a lot more valuable than a bit of nostalgia.

OSU advance to the semifinals of the Women's NIT Tournament on Sunday with a 78-70 victory against the Buffaloes.

Coach Jim Littell said he was impressed with his team's overall effort.

"We sustained their best shot," he said. "They (Colorado) really shot it well. They shot about 29 percent coming in and they just lit us up on every spot on the floor. It's good that we can win a game like this when a team comes into our house and shoots the ball so well."

Liz Donohoe continued her impressive play with a third-straight double-double, scoring 20 points and pulling in 13 rebounds.

Overall, the Cowgirls shot 53 percent from the floor but some hot outside shooting from Colorado kept the Buffaloes in the game.

The Buffs launched up 32 3-pointers in the game, connecting on 15 of them.

OSU led by 13 points in the first half but the lead was cut down to 40-33 at the break.

The Buffaloes continued their big run and narrowed the margin all the way down to 40-38.

Although Oklahoma State pushed the lead back out again, Colorado rallied all the way back to tie the game at 61 with about five minutes to play.

However, Donohoe drained a pair of 3-pointers over the next few minutes to regain the momentum for good.

Though Donohoe had a big night with her double-double, OSU guard Tiffany Bias actually led all scorers with 24 points to go with six assists.

"I thought it was (Bias') best game as far as lowering her head and going to the hole and not settling for jump shots but putting a lot of pressure on the defense," Littell said. "Late in the ballgame I remember she went in and dished one to Toni (Young) for a nice play there. She can put a lot of pressure on a defense when she gets in the middle of the paint."

The Cowgirls will host San Diego in the semifinal matchup on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
