An Oklahoma prison is on lockdown following an incident with an inmate.

According to officials at the Davis Correctional Facility, prison staff used force to subdue an inmate after a brief altercation with staff. The incident happened in the inmate living area of the prison. Two prison employees who responded to the incident suffered minor injuries.

Officials with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC) were notified and the facility has been placed on lockdown status while facility management reviews the incident.

Davis Correctional Facility is a 1,600-bed, medium- and maximum-security prison for male inmates in southern Oklahoma.
