Editor's note: As News On 6 prepares to move into a new building, we're taking inventory of everything in our current one, including hours and hours of old video. We're uncovering some interesting stories along the way, which we're sharing here on NewsOn6.com.
In the early 1980s, some University of Tulsa students brought national attention to the school, thanks to their taste in music.
They thought pop music of the 1970s was bad -- so bad that they had to find a way to keep it from being played ever again.
The solution? Load a jukebox with the worst songs of the '70s then drop it from 100 feet in the air.
Reporter Winifred Washington has the story, from April 23, 1982.
