Jury Selection Begins In Trial For Coyle Coach Charged With Child Sex Crimes

Jury selection begins Monday in the trial against a Logan County high school coach charged with sex crimes involving a child.

Stacey Brewer is charged with 13 counts including indecent exposure and lewd acts with a child. His jury trial is the first case on the docket in Guthrie.

Brewer works for Coyle High School as the girl's basketball coach, social studies teacher and bus driver. Allegations of misconduct go back to March of 2009.

Witnesses say he exposed himself to girls on several occasions, touched them inappropriately and tried to give one girl his telephone number.

Logan County prosecutors say they have never seen anything like this in this jurisdiction. Brewer is on paid administrative leave until a verdict is reached.
