Most Wanted Murder Suspect Surrenders To Tulsa Police

A suspect in the shooting death of a Tulsa student surrendered to police Tuesday morning. Deandre Arman Williams, 21, was wanted on a $2 million bond in the shooting death of Byron Ivory.

Williams turned himself in to police accompanied by his attorneys.

"He has absolutely nothing to hide. He's innocent of all the charges," said Michael Manning, an attorney representing Williams.

Deandre Bethel has already been arrested in connection with the same murder. Police say they are looking for at least two more suspects and possibly more.

They say a group of men saw Byron Ivory and some friends sitting in a car and decided to rob them and in the process, shot and killed Ivory.

Ivory was an assistant manager of a paint store and had no criminal record, not even a speeding ticket. Police say he was not a man living a high risk lifestyle, he was simply a man preyed upon by criminals.

"In this case, Mr. Ivory appears to be a completely innocent victim; it's really a tragedy," said Tulsa Police Detective Jason White.

Detectives say they're glad Williams turned himself in, but it doesn't really affect the investigation. Williams' attorney says it's Williams chance to show he's not running or hiding but willing to come forward.

"He looks forward to an opportunity to exonerate himself of these charges," Manning said.

Police believe two suspect vehicles were involved the night of the murder and are still trying to identify the second one.

They would also still like to talk Jamal Lindsey, a man they are calling a person of interest in this case.
