PORTLAND, Maine – For whatever reason, the Maine Red Claws seem to have the 66ers' number.
For the third time in as many games against Maine, Tulsa dropped a last-second decision, this time 84-82 to close out the 2011-12 season.
The night before, the 66ers lost a 100-99 battle against the Red Claws, and the previous time the two teams met before that, Maine squeaked out an 86-84 victory.
Delroy James had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead the 66ers, and Marcus Lewis added 12 points and 16 rebounds for his 34th double-double of the season, which is tops in the league.
Larry Owens had 13 off the bench while Ryan Reid and Robert Vaden also scored in double figures.
Tulsa outrebounded Maine by a margin of 53-46 and also held the Red Claws to just 39 percent shooting despite the loss.
The two teams were back and forth all night, with 11 ties and 17 lead changes in the contest.
But in the end, Kenny Hayes was the man of the hour for Maine, coming through to make a layup with 0.9 seconds remaining to put the game on ice.
The 66ers finished out the season at 23-27 overall while Maine's final mark was 21-29.
