TULSA, Oklahoma -

Two long balls from the Missions was all it took as San Antonio topped the Tulsa Drillers 2-1 Thursday, spoiling the Drillers' home opener in the process.

The game was scoreless for the first three innings, but the Missions (4-3) finally cracked the scoreboard in the top of the fourth. Nathan Freiman led off the inning and went yard over the left field wall to take a 1-0 advantage.

Two at-bats later, Jason Hagerty went the opposite direction, homering over the right field wall to take a 2-0 advantage.

Tulsa (4-3) attempted to get back in the game in the bottom of the sixth.

With one out of the bard, Josh Rutledge hit a ground ball single and advanced to second via steal in the next at-bat. Michael Mitchell followed with a ground ball single to left field, bringing Rutledge home from second to cut the lead in half.

Nolan Arenado was hit by a pitch in the next at-bat, putting runners on first and second with no outs on the board. However, Ben Paulsen grounded out in the next at-bat and Kent Matthes struck out to end the threat.

Keyvis Sampson (1-0) received a win for his work, giving up one earned run on four hits, striking out four in his 5.1 innings of service. Edwar Cabrera (1-1) was credited with a loss, giving up two earned runs on five hits in six full innings of service.

The Drillers will try to grab their first home win of the season at 7:05 p.m. Friday in their second game against the Missions.
