Tornado Watches Remain In Effect For Oklahoma Counties

Several Oklahoma counties are still under tornado watches Friday evening.

Several Oklahoma counties are still under tornado watches Friday evening.

Tornado watches will be in effect until 9 p.m. Friday for several Oklahoma Counties, including Oklahoma County, Kingfisher County, McClain County, and more.

Some Oklahoma counties, including Beckham County, Lincoln County, and Washita County, are also under a severe thunderstorm warning as of 7 p.m. Friday.

Pottawatomie County was under a tornado warning until 5:30 p.m. Friday. At 5 p.m. a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was detected near Pink, according to the National Weather Service in Norman. It was moving east at 25 mph.

Several cities, including Shawnee, Tecumseh, Pink, Earlsboro, Johnson, Dale, and Bethel Acres, were affected by the storm. Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 174 and 194 was also affected.

A tornado warning was issued for Cleveland County at about 4 p.m. Friday. It expired at 4:30 p.m. The National Weather Service's radar detected a tornado at 4 p.m. near Norman, moving east at 25 mph.
