A woman firing a pistol brought Tulsa police to the Caves Club at 21st and Sheridan early Sunday.

As club goers were leaving the former Casa Bonita at about 2 a.m., two women got into an argument in the parking lot. Witnesses tell police one of the women went to her vehicle for a handgun.

She fired a single shot into the air, according to Tulsa Police Sergeant Thomas Bell.

Karen Ann Menchaca, 29, was booked into the Tulsa County Jail on a complaint of reckless handling of a firearm.

No one was hit, and security guards detained Menchaca before police could arrive. According to the arrest report, she had a silver pistol. Police found a spent casing on the ground and a live round on the ground next to it.

Bell told News On 6 Menchaca had a concealed carry permit which could be revoked.

He also noted that it's the second time since the club opened early this month that there have been shots fired in or around the parking lot.

"Fortunately, in all the incidents we've had at the club so far, we don't have anyone that's actually been shot or injured from the activity," said Sergeant Thomas Bell, TPD.

"With a crowd this large - hundreds of people - with a firearm being discharged in the area, we're just very, very fortunate that nobody's been hurt."
