TULSA, Oklahoma – Somewhere in the dugout, someone must have done something to jinx him.

The Tulsa Drillers' Edwar Cabrera was working on a perfect game, but it all came crashing down in the ninth inning.

Despite missing out on the big accomplishment, Cabrera was still spectacular in a 4-0 win against Corpus Christi on Tuesday.

He threw eight innings and struck out eight batters in the process.

But the first batter of the ninth inning, Hooks catcher Chris Wallace, had to go and ruin the fun.

Wallace managed a single at the first at-bat of the ninth, breaking up the perfect game for Cabrera.

Cabrera was quickly pulled after his bid was over, replaced by Coty Woods who didn't hesitate in recording the final three outs quickly.

It took the Drillers a little while to get going as well, not scoring until the fifth inning.

In the bottom of the fifth, Lars Davis got the scoring going with a two-run homer to right field.

Kiel Roling followed that effort up in the next inning with a home run of his own, this one a solo shot to right.

Josh Rutledge singled in the seventh inning to bring home Tulsa's fourth and final run, Angelys Nina.

Tulsa improved to 9-3 on the year while Corpus Christi dropped to 5-7.

Tulsa will have the day off Wednesday before starting a series at Springfield at 7:08 p.m. Thursday.
