Tulsa Ex-Con Turns Himself In For East 29th Street Homicide

Police say a suspect in a shooting death in Tulsa turned himself in Friday night.

Tulsa Police responded to a shooting in the 200 block of East 29th where they found the victim, 36-year-old Alvin Shay Johnson. Johnson was transported to a local hospital where he died from his wounds.

The suspect, 25-year-old John Edgar Williams, turned himself in to Tulsa police at his house Friday night. Williams was taken into custody without incident.

Williams is a convicted felon.

Police say this is the 18th murder in Tulsa in 2012.
