NORMAN, Oklahoma – For the second straight game, the Sooners and Tigers went to extra innings.

Only this time, the result was a little less favorable for OU.

Missouri topped Oklahoma 4-2 in eight innings on Saturday, falling after leading 2-0 early in the game.

It didn't take long for the Sooners to make a mark on the scoreboard, as a single from Georgia Casey brought home Callie Parsons in the first for a 1-0 lead.

Two innings later, Lauren Chamberlain led off the third with a solo home run to double the margin.

For the first five innings of the game, the Sooners were looking good, especially with the lead, as they were able to hold the Tigers scoreless.

Michelle Gascoigne was responsible for those five scoreless innings, but things took a bad turn in the sixth.

Gascoigne walked Missouri's Jenna Marston to start the sixth and then quickly gave up a two-run homer to Ashley Fleming to tie the game.

Keliani Ricketts replaced Gascoigne but ran into problems of her own after the game reached extra innings.

Ricketts gave up two runs in the top of the eighth as Kelsea Roth and Nicole Hudson picked up RBIs, and the Sooners couldn't respond in the bottom of the inning.

Ricketts picked up the loss in three innings and Chelsea Thomas got the win in six innings for the Tigers, as she gave up just three hits and one earned run.

OU fell to 37-7 overall (12-4 Big 12) while Missouri moved to 34-9 (11-6).

The two teams will finish out their three-game series on Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Norman.
