STILLWATER, Oklahoma – What started off as a pitching duel quickly turned into an offensive showcase for the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State topped the Sooners 6-1 in a Tuesday night Bedlam matchup, thanks to some big innings late in the game.

OU jumped out of the gate with an RBI single from Max White in the first inning to take an early lead, but it would be the only run Oklahoma would manage on the night.

OSU responded in the bottom of the third inning as Randy McCurry returned the favor, flying out to left field to bring home Trey Whaley and knot the score.

For two innings after that, the game appeared to be a low-scoring affair as Kyle Ottoson and Damien Magnifico battled it out on the mound.

But the Cowboys broke through in the third, scoring two runs off RBIs from Whaley and Gabe Weidenaar and adding a third on a wild pitch from the Sooners.

Though it didn't end up needing to, Oklahoma State added two more runs in the bottom of the eighth as well. A single from Jarrett Higgins brought home two more runs to give the Cowboys their final 6-1 margin.

Ottoson was impressive on the mound, throwing 8.1 innings for the Cowboys and giving up just five hits and the lone OU run in the victory.

Magnifico got the loss for the Sooners, giving up four runs on seven hits in 6.2 innings of play.

The Cowboys will begin a weekend series with Kansas State, with the first game set to start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday in Manhattan, Kan.

OU will have a quicker turnaround with a Wednesday night matchup against Dallas Baptist in Norman. That game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch.
