Mayor To Present Next Year's Budget At Council Meeting Thursday

The Tulsa city council will get its first look at the proposed City of Tulsa's Fiscal Year 2012-2013 budget at its meeting at city hall Thursday evening.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett will make the presentation along with city Finance Director Mike Kier.

News On 6 has learned the mayor's budget proposal will focus on six areas.  Public safety, economic development and jobs, beatification, transportation, government efficiency and citizen priorities.

The mayor is also expected to discuss the city's current economic situation and the future of jobs at American Airlines and U.S. Postal Service's sorting facility and their future impact on the city's finances.

The city council meeting gets underway at 6 p.m. at city hall.
