One of the founders of the Tulsa Ballet died Thursday.  Moscelyne Larkin was one of the Five Moons, Native American ballerinas from Oklahoma to gain international fame.

In 1956, Moscelyne and her husband Roman Jasinski founded the Tulsa Civic Ballet which later became known as the Tulsa Ballet.

She was born in Miami, Oklahoma in 1925. Her father was a Peoria-Shawnee and her mother was Russian ballet dancer.

Larkin trained under her mother before moving to New York City to further her studies.

She was the Tulsa Ballet's founding Artistic Director. Her husband preceded her in death.
