Daiquiri Miller is in the Tulsa County Jail.

It's unusual to charge someone with felony child neglect for passing drugs to a baby still in the womb.

But District Attorney Tim Harris says enough is enough.

All seven of Daiquiri Millers' children have been taken into DHS custody over several years.

Several were born addicted to drugs.

The latest child was born in March addicted to cocaine, and Miller is charged with child neglect.

"We're going to have to do what we have to do to protect children, to keep them safe, and if it means a criminal prosecution then so be it," Harris said.

Typically, counseling, education and drug treatment programs are available for moms who give birth to drug-addicted babies, rather than prosecuting them

But based on Millers' previous history, she now faces a felony charge.
