An alleged rape victim on the Stillwater campus of Oklahoma State University has made a confession. The thought of the crime frightened students over the weekend. Now, she's telling a different story.

Oklahoma State University Police say they have discovered inaccuracies in that student's story.

On Friday, the victim came forward claiming a stranger followed her to her room at the Village D Apartments, and threatened her with a pocket knife before raping her. Campus police put up flyers in dorms, and also emailed and texted students, warning them to be careful.

Police also told students to stay away from dimly lit areas, and not to walk alone at night.

Now, police say after interviewing the alleged victim again, they believe the woman and "so called stranger" knew each other. The victim told officers she had been talking to the man for several hours before the reported assault.

The victim said the suspect did not hold her at knife point, and she allowed him to enter her apartment.

The victim has declined to pursue prosecution of the suspect.

So as for now, the case is closed.
