My 2 Cents: Would You Work In 1776-Feet Tall Building In NYC?

Posted: Updated:
OKLAHOMA CITY -

There's a celebration in New York because there's a new tallest skyscraper in the Big Apple.

With the raising of this steel column One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, has topped 1250 feet, just taller than the observation deck on the Empire State building.

And there are more floors to come; when it's done, it'll be 1776 feet tall.

To give you some perspective that's double the height of Oklahoma City's new Devon Tower.

And yes, they've taken a lot of extra precautions to protect the occupants in the case of a terrorist attack.

Reinforced stairwells that are pressurized, stairwells just for firefighters, biological and chemical air filters and so on.

But I ask you, for all of that, would you feel safe working there?

You might as well paint a big bulls eye on the side of the building, because you know terrorists already have it in their sights.

I get the point of not letting them win, and not being afraid, but at a historic and symbolic height of 1776 feet tall, that's a big target for those wanting to make an anti-American statement.

I ask again, would you want to work in that building?
