LUBBOCK, Texas – Oklahoma State decided to wait until the last second to come through at the plate on Saturday, but with the way Kat Espinosa was throwing, that wasn't a problem.

Espinosa pitched a complete game shutout as the Cowgirls knocked off the 24th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders 5-0.

She gave up three hits in her fifth complete-game shutout of the season, while also allowing three walks and striking out four. Espinosa improved to 15-10 on the year.

The first five innings of the game remained a pitching duel as neither team was able to get anything going at the plate.

But Oklahoma State was finally able to break that trend in the sixth inning as Freshman Shelby Davis led off the inning with a triple.

After Tamara Brown and Julie Ward both walked, Amy Graham and Gessenia DeLaCruz both picked up RBIs. An error from the Red Raiders followed that up to make it 3-0, Cowgirls.

Though it didn't need it, OSU added two more runs in the top of the seventh. Shelby Davis advanced home on a bases-loaded walk and a fielder's choice scored Kelsey Anchors to give the final 5-0 margin.

The Red Raiders had runners in scoring position four times in the game but could never convert.

The win boosts the Cowgirls to 25-21 overall and 8-11 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech fell to 38-15, 11-10.

The series will continue on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Lubbock.
