Oklahoma had no trouble scoring runs Saturday, while Oklahoma State managed just five hits against the Sooners, with Oklahoma claiming the second game of the Bedlam Series 8-4 setting up a pivotal game three Sunday afternoon.

OU jumped out to a big lead early, thanks to four runs in the first two innings of play.

Erik Ross doubled to open the game, followed by back-to-back walks loaded the bases with no outs on the board. Two at-bats later, Caleb Bushyhead hit a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing Ross home to take a 1-0 lead. Cody Reine followed with a triple to right center, scoring two and giving Oklahoma a 3-0 advantage in the first inning.

Matt Oberste stretched the lead to four runs with a leadoff home run in the second inning. The sophomore DH added one more to his RBI total in the top of the fourth with a single up the middle to score Reine.

The Sooners continued to pour in on the seventh, with back-to-back singles and a sacrifice bunt from Ross to bring Oberste home. Three at-bats later Hunter Lockwood singled through the left side, bringing Garrett Carey home and Max White followed with an RBI double to score their eighth run of the game.

Jonathan Gray (5-4) was a big reason why the Cowboys couldn't get any offense going through the first seven innings, going scoreless through seven, striking out seven. However, he did struggle in the opening at-bats of the eighth, giving up a walk, a wild pitch, a single and then another wild pitch to score the Cowboys' first run of the game, ending his night.

Four at-bats and two pitchers later, Mark Ginther grounded back to the mound, but allowed Saulyer Saxon to score and cut into the lead even more. Hunter Bailey scored on a wild pitch in the next at-bat, and Trey Whaley followed with an RBI double to left field to cut the lead to 8-4 heading into the ninth.

However, that would be all the offense the Cowboys could muster in the win.

Kyle Ottoson (4-6) picked up a loss for the outing, giving up four earned runs on just three hits in one inning of service for the Cowboys.

The two squads will try to claim the Bedlam series win at 4 p.m. Saturday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
