SPRINGDALE, Arkansas -

The Tulsa Drillers were unable to get much going Saturday, falling to the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 2-1, in the first of the four-game series.

Jake Odorizzi (3-2) was dominant from the mound, giving up just two hits and one earned run, striking out 11 in 7.1 innings of service. The only earned run came in the top of the fourth, a leadoff home run from Johs Rutledge, but the Naturals still held a 2-1 lead.

Northwest Arkansas built its lead early, thanks to an RBI single from Carlo Testa in the bottom of the second, bringing Josh Whittleman home from third. In the bottom of the third, the Naturals added to their lead thanks to a solo home run from Wil Myers, pushing the lead to 2-0.

Parker Frazier (1-3) was credited with a loss for the outing, giving up two earned runs on nine hits in his seven innings of service for the Drillers.

Tulsa will try to avoid losing back-to-back games as the four game series continues at 2 p.m. Sunday.
