A medical helicopter transported three people to a Tulsa hospital after a suspected DUI driver caused a head-on collision near Catoosa Tuesday.

It happened just after 5 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Highway 167.

Catoosa police say the suspected drunk driver was in a Ford Taurus going northbound when she swerved into the southbound lanes and slammed head-on into a Ford F-150.

The suspected DUI driver and her male passenger were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.

The male driver of the Ford truck, who was heading home from work, was also airlifted to the hospital but in critical but stable condition.

Minutes before the crash, Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers received a call about a reckless driver in a Ford Taurus.

The Highway was closed for a short while as crews cleared the scene.
