Okfuskee County Jail Escapee Captured By U.S. Marshals

The third of three men who climbed out a window of Okfuskee County jail Monday is back in custody.

An escapee from Okfuskee County jail is back in custody. U.S. Marshals captured Keith Smith near Stone Bluff.

Smith was one of three men who escaped or attempted to escape from jail Monday. 

Smith, 45, and Gerald Adams, 40, escaped just after 9:30 p.m. by climbing out a window. Adams was caught Tuesday afternoon.

The third inmate, Okemah resident Tanner Hicks, 21,  was apprehended outside of the jail.

Smith was in jail on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon and eluding a police officer.

Assisting the U.S. Marshals were the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Oklahoma State Probation and Parole, according to Deputy Dan David with the U.S. Marshals, Muskogee.
