STILLWATER, Oklahoma – The 25th-ranked Cowboys' victory on Saturday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium could only be described as "taking care of business."

The more talented Oklahoma State was expected to easily handle Alcorn State and that's exactly what it did, handing the Braves an 11-2 loss.

OSU clinched the series victory with the win, which was its 13th win in the past 15 games.

Jared Womack had a big day at the plate, driving in three runs for the Cowboys. Trey Whaley picked up three hits in the game.

OSU reliever Chase Stevens picked up the victory after taking over for starter Vince Wheeland in the fourth inning. Stevens didn't allow a run in 5.2 innings of play, giving up two hits and striking out 10.

Alcorn State actually took the lead early in the second inning, but the Cowboys quickly responded in the bottom of the same inning and never trailed again.

Four runs from the Cowboys in the seventh inning put the game out of reach.

Oklahoma State moved to 31-19 on the year. The Cowboys will look for the series sweep on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Stillwater.
