SPRINGFIELD, Missouri -

A late push from the Tulsa Drillers gave them a 3-2 win over the Springfield Cardinals Sunday, snapping a six-game losing streak.

Springfield jumped out to a lead in the bottom of the fifth, thanks to an RBI double from Nick Derba to take a 1-0 lead, followed two at-bats later thanks to a single from Kolten Wong to bring Derba home.

However, Tulsa would answer back in the top of the eighth inning. A pair of singles to opening the inning put runners on first and second, followed by a Nolan Arenado double to left field brought Tim Torres home to cut the deficit to one run.

Two at-bats later, a wild pitch from Kevin Thomas allowed both Arenado and Josh Rutledge to score, taking a 3-2 advantage.

Zach Simon (1-0) came away with a win despite limited production, not allowing a single hit in his one inning of service. Jesse Simpson (1-2) received a loss for the outing, giving up three hits and three earned runs in just .1 inning pitched.

Tulsa will try to make it back-to-back win and conclude its road trip at 12:08 p.m. Monday.
