Attorney General Scott Pruitt's Office has charged a Catoosa man with workers' compensation fraud.

William Richmond, 65, was charged May 17, 2012 with three counts of workers' compensation fraud in Wagoner County after filing workers' compensation claims that stated he had no prior knee injury.

According to the charges, Richmond sought medical treatment and filed three claims, one for each injury to both knees and his left shoulder when he slipped while working as a security guard.

Richmond repeatedly claimed no prior injury or treatments to his left knee, but after examination of medical records, AG investigators found Richmond had surgery on his left knee and received treatment as recently as May 2009.

To date, Richmond has received temporary total disability payments in the amount of $15,682.

Richmond was arrested May 21, 2012 and appeared before a judge the next day. He was released on $5,000 bond pending a June 13, 2012 court hearing.
