One person is dead and three others recovering at a Tulsa hospital following a traffic crash on I-244 near Sheridan Sunday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a car and an SUV headed east on I-244 collided at about 9 p.m., causing the driver of the SUV to lose control and drive through a guardrail.

The 2001 Chevy Tahoe rolled four times, according to the OHP.

Troopers say there were six people in the Tahoe, including 2 children.  Maria Lopez, 64, of Tulsa died in the crash.

Three other passengers -- ages 15, 33 and 65 -- were transported to a Tulsa hospital. Two children, ages 3 and 7, were treated and released.

A Monday afternoon update of the three people still in the hospital indicates that Jessica Ramirez has been upgraded to good condition; Maria Ramirez and Filiberto Ramirez-Gaytan, serious condition.

Troopers say Lopez was one of three passengers ejected from the SUV.  They say only the driver of the Tahoe was wearing a seatbelt.

The OHP says the 2003 Mitsubishi that hit the SUV sped off and was found by Tulsa Police about five miles away.

Officers took the driver, Kristen Smith, 28, into custody on suspicion of DUI.

The OHP says her 8-year-old son was in the car during the collision and was not injured.

Smith was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a dozen complaints including leaving the scene of a fatal crash, 2nd degree manslaughter, DUI and child endangerment.

Troopers say she was driving with a suspended license and her car was not properly registered.
