STILLWATER, Oklahoma -

Former Oklahoma State University running back Herschel Sims has been charged with two felonies by the Payne County District Attorney's office.

According to court documents, Sims forged the signature of teammate Mbuyamba Tshimanga to withdraw $700 from Tshimanga's account at Stillwater National Bank in April.

Sims faces two counts of second-degree forgery. Each count carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.  He's been ordered to appear before a judge on July 11, 2012.

Sims, a native of Abilene, Texas, was dismissed from the team on Friday, June 1, 2012 for a violation of team rules. The OSU athletic department would not release anymore details.
