NBA television analyst and former player Charles Barkley is back in Oklahoma City for game six between the Thunder and the Spurs Wednesday, but he didn't spend the afternoon on the court, instead he tried out another sport—softball.
Barkley stepped to the plate to take a few pitches from Oklahoma's two time Olympic gold medalist and former Team USA pitcher Michele Smith.
Charles got a piece of a few pitches but never had got a solid hit—except for the last pitch from Smith that was a grapefruit instead of a softball and he made smashing contact with that pitch.
"I am glad I got a chance to do it, I haven't had a chance to go out to the (Women's) World Series since I've been here, but I have been watching it on television and I'm rooting for Oklahoma to beat Alabama," said Barkley.
The Sooners and Crimson Tide are tied 1-1 entering game three of the series. Pending the weather, game three is scheduled for Wednesday night with the winner being crowned the World Series champion.
After game five between the Thunder and Spurs, Barkley predicted a Thunder win for Wednesday's game. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m.
