OKLAHOMA CITY -
Oklahoma Congressman Frank Lucas says his
influence as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee is the prime reason he
should be re-elected to an 11th term representing the state's 3rd Congressional
District.
Lucas faces William Craig Stump for the
Republican nomination in the June 26 primary.
Democrats Timothy Ray Murray and Frankie
Robbins are competing for their party's nomination in the November general
election. Independent candidate William Sanders of Stillwater will also appear
on the general election ballot.
Lucas says his leadership on the
agriculture committee helps determine national agricultural policy. Stump did
not return phone calls seeking comment.
Murray says Lucas' policies favor large farming companies instead
of the individual family farm while Robbins says he'll work to end partisanship
and misinformation in Congress.
