Ford Shelby Nationals Kick Off Thursday in Green Country

The 38th annual Mid-America Ford and Shelby Nationals rumbled into the Tulsa area this week, with festivities kicking off at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit Thursday.

Ford owners received one-on-one professional driving instruction around the road course, and later, both inexperienced and expert-level drivers learned new skills using an open track.

Thursday night was the Brady Ford Fest, when a cruise made its way through Tulsa, along Riverside Drive and into the Brady District downtown.

"We're excited to showcase the new 2013 vehicles that everyone has been eager to see," Ford marketing manager Jim Owens said.

On Saturday, Oklahoma Ford dealers are sponsoring a full day of drag racing – for all levels of Ford performance vehicles – at Tulsa Raceway Park.
