Thanks to a big run to start the fourth quarter, the Tulsa Shock knocked off the Phoenix Mercury 87-75 to pick up their first win of the season, their first win against the Mercury since relocating from Detroit.

The Shock entered the fourth quarter tied 56-56, but after Andrea Riley opened the half with a layup, Tulsa snapped off 10 consecutive points – including five from Riquina Williams – to take a 66-58 lead.

Tulsa would hold its lead until the 3:43 minute mark, enjoying a comfortable 74-64 advantage. However, Phoenix rattled off a 9-4 run – including six consecutive from Samantha Prahalis – to cut the lead to five points.

At that point, the Mercury resorted to fouling to extend the game, as the Shock converted on six straight from the charity stripe, while Phoenix came up empty on four consecutive possessions to push the lead to 84-73. Krystal Thomas hit a three-pointer on the Mercury's next trip down the court, but Tulsa hit on four more free throws to ice the game.

Temeka Johnson set the pace for the Shock, scoring 22 points, grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists. Williams contributed big as well, scoring 19 points and four rebounds, while Glory Johnson added 12 points and nine rebounds, five coming on the offensive end.

DeWanna Bonner finished with a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds, with Charde Houston contributing 22 points in the loss.

The Shock will be back in action at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, trying to pick up their second win against the Los Angeles Sparks.
