Summer School Begins For Tulsa Public Schools

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Summer school started Monday for thousands of students in Tulsa Public Schools.  More than 5,000 students have enrolled in summer school this year.

To help educate those students, Teach for America teachers from all over the country are joining 180 veteran TPS teachers.

Summer school runs through July 13, 2012.

For elementary and grades 7 through 9, summer school started at 7:30 a.m. For grades 10 through 12, classes started at 8 a.m.

The University of Tulsa will be hosting and housing the Teach for America teachers.
