Drillers Pitcher Edwar Cabrera Makes Major League Debut Wednesday Night

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

Tulsa Drillers pitcher Edwar Cabrera will make his major league debut Wednesday, when he starts for the Colorado Rockies against the Washington Nationals.

Cabrera, who was selected to start in Thursday's Texas League All-Star game, is 8-4 this year for Tulsa with a 2.94 earned run average. Cabrera has also struck out 82 batters so far this season.

Due to Cabrera starting Wednesday, he will be unable to start in the All-Star game Thursday. Tulsa starting pitcher Dan Houston will start instead, and Tulsa reliever Josh Sullivan will be added to the roster to take Cabrera's place.

The All-Star game will be held Thursday night at Tulsa's ONEOK Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
