Mandatory Water Rationing Lifted In Broken Arrow

Posted: Updated:
BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

The City of Broken Arrow lifted the mandatory water rationing order that was issued earlier Saturday.  The new order took effect at 5 p.m.

The city says power was restored to the high-service pumps at the water treatment facility.  The city says it will take a few hours to fill its towers to normal water levels.

Electrical issues caused the high-service pump at the water treatment plant to stop working, according to Acting City Manager Russell Gale.

The problem was not with the electrical lines supplying the facility with power, according to Public Service of Oklahoma.

The water rationing did not affect rural water district customers, according to Stephanie Higgins with the City of Broken Arrow.
