Oklahoma has requested the return of two brothers serving time in Arkansas for attempted murder and kidnapping to face first-degree murder charges.

The brothers -- 24-year-old Elvis Aaron Thacker and 23-year-old Johnathen Thacker -- are charged in the slaying of 22-year-old Briana Ault.

Ault vanished from a nightclub in 2010 and her body was found in a pond in Poteau, Oklahoma. Her throat had been cut.

The Thackers were under investigation for rape at the time, and Arkansas officers moved in to arrest them. They subsequently reached plea agreements.

The Southwest Times Record reports that District Attorney Jeff Smith on Friday filed papers to have the Thackers transferred to LeFlore County, where they are to be prosecuted for Ault's murder.

Arkansas prison officials say the Thackers can be transferred.
