Some children of Oklahoma National Guard soldiers got a big surprise when they got to attend a basketball skills camp with Thunder star Kevin Durant.

Cassidy McCann, daughter of Major Larry Marcy of Durant, and Kayla Albright, daughter of Sergeant Jerry Albright of Midwest City, received scholarship to Durant's annual basketball skills camp. Major Durant is a logistics officer for the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and Sergeant Albright works as a human resource assistant with the 45th Fires Brigade.

The two kids were in Norman Monday for ProCamp on the campus of Oklahoma University.

"Oh my gosh," Cassidy said. "I'm like a big fan of Kevin Durant, so I was really excited."

The camp runs for two days and teaches children fundamentals of ball handling and sportsmanship. It's Durant's fourth year of sponsoring the camp which had a record number of kids in attendance – almost 650 basketball players.

For the children of several Oklahoma Guardsmen, this opportunity came through donations from the ProCamps Cares scholarship program allowing dependants of the military to attend the camp for free.
