Downtown Tulsa was red, white and blue in motion for the tenth annual Firecracker run. Independence Day runners and walkers got an early start in the Blue Dome district then finished up with a party.

Some of the youngest entrants were in the 5K stroller race, pushed along by their patriotic parents.

The event celebrated the Nation's birthday and raised money for the Army Aviation Association of America, according to sponsor Fleet Feet Sports.

Fleet Feet also asked runners to donate gently used running shoes to benefit Operation School Bell and the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.

After the run, athletes enjoyed breakfast burritos donated by Chimi's and beer for those over 21.
