Ivory Latta did everything she could to try to propel Tulsa to its third victory of the season but couldn't get enough support to make it a reality.

The Shock lost to Connecticut 86-75 at the BOK Center on Friday to fall to 2-13 on the season.

Latta led the Shock with 24 points and was on fire from deep, connecting on 6-of-7 shots behind the 3-point line. The rest of the team didn't have that shooting touch, finishing just 39 percent from the floor.

Latta was the lone Shock player in double figures until Kayla Pederson hit the mark with two minutes remaining in the game.

Despite the poor shooting performance, Tulsa managed to make a few runs at the Sun. Connecticut took a commanding 25-10 lead at the end of the first quarter – a quarter where Tulsa shot just 4-for-19 from the floor - but the Shock came out with a flurry to tie the game up at 27. Connecticut immediately answered with a 10-0 run of its own to regain control.

The Sun held Tulsa at bay the rest of the way behind a dominant performance by Sun center Tina Charles. Charles had 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting to go with 10 boards and three assists. Connecticut also got 14 points from both Kara Lawson and reserve forward Asjha Jones.

Every player who saw time for the Shock scored. Tulsa returns to action when it hosts Washington at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
