Man Who Stepped Into Traffic On Rogers County Highway Identified

ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A man is dead after he stepped into traffic on Highway 412 in Rogers County Monday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the man parked his pickup truck on the side of 412, just west of the Verdigris River bridge at about 6:30 a.m., left a note in his truck and then stepped in front of a westbound utility-type truck.

The man was identified as 51-year-old Ted Bowen of Tulsa. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The incident slowed westbound traffic on U.S. Highway 412 for about an hour.
