Funeral Service Tuesday For Former State Senator Gene Stipe

McALESTER, Oklahoma -

Funeral service for former State Senator Gene Stipe is set for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of McAlester.

Dr. Tim Russell will officiate with eulogies from Judge Terry West, former Oklahoma Governor George Nigh, Frosty Troy, John Massey and Eddie Harper.

Stipe died at his home on Saturday in McAlester after a long illness.

The family said that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shared Blessings, the Alzheimer's Association, the Salvation Army or another charity.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
