TULSA, Oklahoma -
The city council has teamed up with local firefighters to collect school supplies for students of Tulsa Public Schools.
On average, families spend about $600 each year on school supplies.
This drive, which kicks off next Wednesday, can help offset some of those costs.
New supplies and gently-used backpacks can be dropped off at any of the 30 City of Tulsa fire stations August 1 through August 10.
Tulsa Public Schools will be responsible for distributing supplies to students.
