OKLAHOMA CITY -
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics say it's destroyed more than 10 tons of unwanted prescriptions in the year since it's started its partnership with Tulsa's Covanta Energy plant.
The OBN said getting rid of unused medications combats Oklahoma's prescription abuse epidemic.
"One bottle may have destroyed or killed one young person's life, so you think about how many lives have been spared and saved and tragedies averted because of this take-back program and our relationship," said OBD Director Darrell Weaver.
OBN has 122 disposal drop sites around the state. Check here for a list of locations.
